Athena Daniilidou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Thessaly. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Macedonia. She completed her doctoral and postdoctoral studies in Psychology at the Department of Educational and Social Policy of the University of Macedonia. Her research interests focus on socio-emotional development during childhood, with particular emphasis on self-regulation, the development of identity and the self, and children’s relationships with significant others. Her broader research also examines psychological and socio-emotional factors associated with adjustment, resilience, and well-being in educational contexts. She has extensive teaching experience at university level and has participated in a range of national and international research projects, including Erasmus+ initiatives. She is an active member of academic networks such as EARLI and Staying BRiTE and serves as Co-Coordinator of the Positive Psychology Division of the Hellenic Psychological Society. Her research has been published in Greek and international peer-reviewed journals and presented at scientific conferences. She also serves in editorial and peer-review roles for academic journals.
