Practical Training
Introduction
The reformed program concerning students’ Practical Training (P.T.) has been in force since the academic year 2014-2015. It ensures a substantial and functional integration of pedagogical theory, as captured in the modern findings of the Education Sciences, with educational practice, through the development of a reflection process.
The aim of P.T. is to have students develop vocational awareness as future educators, who will reflect on and research into their work.
Practical Training in the Department of Early Childhood Education focuses on two main axes:
- The first axis is “in-school” and refers to the Obligatory Practical Training (O.P.T.) in Kindergartens/Nurseries.
- The second axis is “out-of-school” and refers to Remunerated Practical Training (R.P.T.).
