Undergraduate studies

The organization of the currently running programme includes a large number of electives, enabling the students to pursue their special interests, while the compulsory courses (which are now taught in relatively small groups of students) secure the grounding of a solid basis of knowledge, necessary to the professional working in the area of early childhood education.

 

Expected Learning Outcomes of the Undergraduate Studies Programme

  • The USP focuses on building academic knowledge and professional skills, so that students:
    develop critical, analytical and synthetic thinking
  • are able to search for new scientific / research data and utilize it
  • are able to critically process and deal with current social issues related to social diversity (ethnic, religious, gender, etc.), which present pedagogical challenges
  • understand how young children learn and process concepts and enhance their holistic development, i.e. provide support for their abilities and emotional and social empowerment through a holistic pedagogical approach
  • interact with infants by encouraging active learning and fostering creativity
  • design, create, enrich and redesign formal and informal, flexible learning environments, both in the context of individual and collective learning
  • properly prioritize goals and plan, organize, carry out and evaluate the educational process according to the set goals and priorities
  • reflect on their practices and adapt their teaching based on self-assessment, research, and new pedagogical and scientific perceptions
  • keep informed about the pedagogical and educational possibilities of new technologies and use them as a learning tool.
