The aim of this project is to investigate the ways in which sexism, that is stereotypical beliefs about gender, is reproduced in couple psychotherapy discourse. Discourse analysis methodological approaches, like discursive psychology and conversation analysis are employed for the analysis of transcribed videotaped couple therapy sessions. Sessions are sampled from a corpus of 150 couple therapy sessions and are transcribed verbatim using a detailed notation system.
