Course description
The aim of the course is to highlight and experience the theoretical, epistemological and methodological dimensions of the multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary space of Social Pedagogy, through the implementation of socio-pedagogical actions. Specifically, students will be led to apply the strong precaution and combative intervention role of Social Pedagogy through: a) the planning, the organization, the implementation and the evaluation of social pedagogical interventions in both Kindergartens (formal) as well as in extracurricular education systems (informal), in collaboration with Kindergartens and institutions, b) the participation in experiential socio-pedagogical programs conducted in Kindergartens, with emphasis on volunteering, e.g. in programs with the aim of highlighting the socio-pedagogical dimensions of the diversity, the uniqueness and the identity of each person, in collaboration with Kindergartens, c) the participation in experiential seminars for the purpose of study and socio-pedagogy dealing with critical incidents e.g. socio-pedagogical approach of “vulnerable” social groups in Kindergarten and in the community, with the organization and the development of relevant actions to tackle violence, victimization and racism in area of the Kindergarten and in the environment of the community etc., in collaboration with institutions and Kindergartens.
