This research project aims to improve E-learning quality through Machine Learning. The idea is to design, develop, and implement a heuristic methodology for developing student models that: (a) enable the automatic detection of current student understanding and (b) provide feedback that is tailored to the specific student needs. On the one hand, the project adopts a holistic, systematic, and principle-based approach for tracing student understanding and developing student models. On the other hand, the project aspires to utilize such student models for providing intelligent feedback.
