Course description

The course discusses the structure of the kindergarten program and gives students the supplies for the requiredorganization, methodology and development of activities in the kindergarten through thecombination of theory and practice. The course aims at the pedagogical compositionof the future teacher, in order to connect the theoretical principles of the Teaching Methodologywith teaching practice and to develop reflective practices.

 

Learning outcomes

During the course students are expected to:

  • understand the structure of various curricula in different countries in preschool through the study of standard Preschool programs
  • clarify the role that the teacher is called to play in the kindergarten, choosing modern alternative methodological approaches and teaching techniques
  • integrate reflection practices into educational planning and understand their application as a tool for teacher professional development.

Assessment

Course assessment involves a) written exams at the end of the semester b) students group assignments.

 

Teaching methods

Lectures, conversation, introduction to theoretical knowledge based on bibliography, laboratory exercises.
