Sakkis Dimitrios is a Professor in the Department of Preschool Education, University of Thessaly. For the first time in 1997, he was elected as an Assistant Professor at the same Department, in the subject field of Modern Greek History. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in thFaculty of Philosophy, University of Ioannina, a Master’s degree of the Faculty of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Ph.D. of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Athens. He has extensive research experience in General State Archives, in Archives of Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece, in local archives and in foreign archives (Archivio di Stato di Venezia).
He teaches the following undergraduate courses: Greek History (1204-1830), Modern Greek History (19th-20th century), Historical Sites And Environment: Teaching Approaches For Children Of Preschool Age, Modern Greek History: Socio-economic and Cultural Approaches. His research interests focus on socio-economic and cultural approaches to issues of Modern Greek History. He has participated in research projects and his research papers have been published in Greek and international journals and in international and Greek conference proceedings. He has authored books on his subject and taught material related to teaching.
