Apostolos Magouliotis is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and did his Ph.D. for the Department of Theatre Studies in the University of Athens.
Since 1981 he has taught as a Visual Arts teacher in: Primary and Secondary Education, the Nursery School of Karditsa, the Pedagogical Sector of Nursery Teaching in the University of Ioannina and lately as an Professor in the University of Thessaly, School of Humanities, Department of Preschool Education. In the Undergraduate Studies Programme he teaches courses on: Visual Applications and Puppet Theatre. In the same department he also teaches, in the Postgraduate Study Programme, in subjects concerning the design, evaluation and production of pedagogical material. His research and artistic interests relate to activities aiming at the investigation of factors that provoke creation and especially the discovery of values – possibilities of materials and techniques as means of Conjectural (or Visual) and Puppet Theatre expression and creation (as teaching material) in the area of education. He has taken part in various research programmes. He is a referee in Greek and international scientific magazines and conferences. His Visual (or Conjectural) and Puppet Theatre works have been presented in various venues and events. His research work has been published in books, magazines and minutes of Greek and International conferences.
