Xenia Arapaki is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Athens and holds a Ph.D. in Education from the Department of Preschool Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
She is a faculty member at the Department of Preschool Education, University of Thessaly and teaches the graduate courses: a) “Didactics of Visual Arts and Early Childhood Education”, b) “Special Topics in Didactics of Visual Arts”, c) “Visual Arts and New Technologies” and d) “Didactics of Ceramic Art”. She has taught graduate courses at the University of Patras, the University of Nicosia in Cyprus and training courses in the School οf Pottery Art, and in the School of Training kindergarten and primary teachers (Marasleio Didaskaleio) in Athens.
Her main research interest concerns the study of the transformation of knowledge and practice of visual arts at various levels of education. She has published numerous research articles in international and Greek journals/conference proceedings as well as having her work published as chapters in various books.
She has participated in European research programmes. She is a reviewer in Greek scientific journals and a member of the Scientific Committee of numerous Greek conferences. As a visual artist, she has presented her work in many solo and group exhibitions.
