At the same time, it involves the students in detailed readings of literary texts, in order to investigate how the language and form of both fiction and poetry mediates, reproduces and\/or questions ideological assumptions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the end of the course, the students\u2019 should:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Understand that forms of behavior, generally considered common or \u201cnatural\u201d, are in fact the result of complex cultural processes.<\/li>\n<li>Be familiar with contemporary theories of \u201cdiscourse\u201d and \u201cideology\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Be sensitised with respect to issues such as xenophobia and racism.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to perceive not only overt but also implicit forms of ideology in literary texts.<\/li>\n<li>Exercise the skill of developing arguments, both orally and in writing.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Written exam at the end of the semester and wtitten essay that is also presented orally in class.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teaching methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lectures and workshops<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Course Code (in greek): \u0393\u039b0311 ECTS Units: 5 Semester: 7 Professor: Sifaki Evgenia Course material &nbsp;
